Impacting the World Through Christ Culture

WHAT IS CHRIST CULTURE?
Every culture has a way of thinking, believing, speaking and living.
The world has a culture.
It has values.
It has standards.
It has priorities.
It has its own definition of truth, success, identity, relationships and what is acceptable.
And whether we realize it or not, culture is always trying to shape us. But as followers of Jesus Christ, we are not called to allow the world to define who we are or determine how we live. We are called to be shaped by Christ.
THIS IS CHRIST CULTURE
Christ Culture means we allow Jesus Christ—not the world—to shape how we think, live, love, lead and serve. We carry His culture everywhere we go.
Christ Culture is a deliberate return to the biblical standards of what it means to live for and belong to Jesus Christ.

In today’s world, the label “Christianity” is a bit watered down. People can declare Christianity and yet, have no standards. For example, someone can willfully lie, cheat and steal and in the next breath say “I am a Christian”.

Christ Culture moves us beyond simply identifying as Christians to intentionally thinking, sacrificing, speaking, serving, and dedicating our life concerning the standard and principles of Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Christ Culture is more than attending church.
It is more than knowing Scripture.
It is more than calling ourselves Christians.
It is allowing Jesus to become the standard for how we live our lives.
When the world says one thing and Christ says another, we choose Christ.
When the world's values conflict with the Word of God, we choose the Word.
When the world's way is popular but Christ's way is different, we choose the way of Christ.
Because we can live in the world without allowing the world to live in us.
WE DON'T FOLLOW CULTURE. WE CARRY CHRIST CULTURE.
The world around us should not have the greatest influence on the Christ within us.
Instead, the Christ within us should influence the world around us.
That means we don't simply ask, “What is everybody else doing?”
We ask, “What does Jesus say?”
We don't determine our values by what is trending.
We don't determine truth by what is popular.
We don't determine right and wrong by what culture accepts.
Jesus Christ is our standard, and the Word of God is our foundation.
Romans 12:2 tells us, “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Christ Culture is that transformed life being lived out every day.
WHAT DOES CHRIST CULTURE LOOK LIKE?
CHRIST CULTURE BELIEVES
The world may change its truth. Christ Culture stands on God's truth.
We build our beliefs, convictions and lives on Jesus Christ and the Word of God.
CHRIST CULTURE LIVES
The world says, “Live your truth.” Christ Culture says, “Live His truth.”
Our faith isn't reserved for just Sunday. Jesus influences our choices, conversations, relationships, conduct and character every day.
CHRIST CULTURE LOVES
The world can divide people. Christ Culture teaches us to love people.
We demonstrate the love, grace, compassion, forgiveness and truth of Jesus—even when it is difficult.
CHRIST CULTURE SERVES
The world often asks, “What's in it for me?” Christ Culture asks, “How can I serve?”
We follow the example of Jesus by using our gifts, time, resources and influence to serve God, build His House and bless others.
CHRIST CULTURE IMPACTS
We are not called to be shaped by the world. We are called to impact it.
We carry Christ into our homes, families, schools, workplaces, businesses, neighborhoods and communities.
Wherever we go, Christ Culture goes with us.
WE CARRY A DIFFERENT CULTURE

Christ Culture should be visible.
People should see it in how we live.
Hear it in how we speak.
Experience it in how we love.
Recognize it in how we lead.
Feel it in how we serve.
And encounter Jesus through the impact we make.
We don't come to church, experience Christ, and then return to living according to the culture around us.
We gather to be strengthened in Christ—and then we go out carrying His culture.
Into our homes.
Into our marriages.
Into our families.
Into our workplaces.
Into our schools.
Into our communities.
And ultimately, into our world.
THIS IS WHO WE ARE
We think like Christ.
We live like Christ.
We love like Christ.
We lead like Christ.
We serve like Christ.
We carry Christ everywhere we go.
We are not allowing the world to shape our culture.
We are allowing Christ to shape us so that through us, He can impact the world.
