Impact Church experienced an unforgettable and powerful Worship and Celebration of Black History Service! It was truly an awesome day filled with praise, unity and reflection as we honored the rich legacy, resilience, and greatness woven throughout Black History.
The service began with a dynamic and Spirit-filled time of praise and worship as we lifted up the mighty name of Jesus. Our worship team, musicians, and praise dancers lifted up a sound of praise that set the atmosphere. The presence of the Lord filled the sanctuary as hearts were united in gratitude.
The foyer was transformed into a visual tribute to history. The walls were lined with vibrant displays honoring prominent civil rights leaders, inventors, athletes, politicians, freedom fighters, and trailblazers, including Bishop Lyle Dukes and Pastor Deborah Dukes, who have made and continue to make extraordinary contributions to Black History. As members and guests walked through, they reflected on the courage, faith, innovation, and perseverance of those who paved the way for future generations.
The Impact Choir then took the service to another level with a dynamic and moving production. Through a powerful medley of songs, dramatic spoken word presentations, and stirring instrumental moments, they told the story of a people whose faith in God carried them through trials, injustice, and adversity. The presentation beautifully illustrated how generations before us held on to God’s unchanging hand — and how that same faith sustains us today. The congregation was lifted into a high praise as voices joined together in unity, singing praises to God.
Bishop Lyle Dukes delivered a life-changing and empowering message entitled, “Leave Your Mark.” He challenged us to walk boldly in the Kingdom assignment God has placed on our lives and reminded us that we are called to be people of impact. Just as so many heroes of Black History left a legacy of courage, excellence, and faith, we too are called to leave a mark that reflects Christ and advances His Kingdom.
Following the service, we continued the celebration with fellowship and delicious food at the Marketplace. We enjoyed a mouthwatering soul food spread featuring ribs, baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, potato salad, green beans, pound cake, banana pudding, red velvet cake, and more. It was a beautiful time of fellowship, laughter, and connection.
Our Impact Kids also had an exciting and meaningful experience in Children’s Church. They learned about Jesus while also celebrating the great accomplishments and contributions highlighted in Black History. It was inspiring to see our young generation being equipped with faith, knowledge, and pride in their heritage.
It was truly a great day at Impact Church — a day of worship, remembrance, excitement, fellowship, and empowerment. We thank God for the legacy of faith that has brought us this far and for the opportunity to continue writing history through lives that honor Him.
